Fall 2025-Spring 2026 Grant Recipients

FDCHSAF financially supports the academic needs of Columbine High School not funded by the school district to provide the greatest impact to the needs of students, teachers, and staff. We accomplish this by raising funds and distributing them through grant requests. The volunteer board consists of teachers, administrators, parents, and community members.

2025-2026 Grant Summary

1. SAT prep course for all students - $3,000

2. Vocal Department new mixing board and speakers - $6,000

   1. The new sound system would allow us to use it for practice and performances in the choir room, auditorium, gym, commons or outside

   2. The new system would last 6-10 years and over a 1,000 students would benefit

3. Track Saw Kit - $1,168

   1. Allows students to make furniture-grade cuts on large sheet goods

4. Chemistry Department modern, wireless sensors - $800 

   1. These sensors are the final piece needed to modernize the department's labs. This purchase will allow for more accurate and efficient data collection and, just as importantly, will unlock the full potential of forensic science and chemistry lab books the foundation already funded last year. 

5. Special Education KTEA Testing kits - $606

   1. Test kits are fundamental, legally-required tools used for IEP evaluations to diagnose student needs. This purchase ensures the team can provide the correct, mandated services for approximately 200 students. 

6. Family & Consumer Sciences Kitchen Supplies - $550

   1. Commercial-grade kitchen equipment (cutting boards, knives, thermometers, etc.) to properly teach students industry-standard safety and sanitation lasting up to 10 years

7. Arduino Programmable Microcontrollers R4 Starter Kits - $300

   1. A set of 8 programmable microcontrollers that allow students to bridge the gap between computer code and physical hardware (like sensors, motors, and lights)

8. Graphic Novels - Slaughterhouse-Five - $300

   1. Targeting Multilingual Learners (MLLs) and students with IEPs.

9. Unified World Languages and Cultures Flashcards - $200

   1. Includes flashcards and laminated images of places/vocabulary, 2 big sets of dice and 5 UNO games, art supplies for a craft per unit, and other games specific to individual cultures
